The aircraft is painted in a WWII "Recall" scheme and would have been launched to warn non-radio in the local area of approaching bad weather, or other safety issue, and for them to immediately return to base.

FMS serial 66-8553 was delivered to the Royal Air Force as XV203 and assigned to the Lyneham Transport Wing (LTW) on 25 August 1967. It was converted to Hercules C1K in 1982 and stroed at Marshalls at Cambrdige from February 1999. The Herk was sold to Sri Lanka as CR880 and delivered on 6 September 2000. It was reregistered to SCH-3402 and later to SCH-880. It is assigned within the SLAF to No.2 Heavy Transport Wing.

This is NZ6255 Douglas TA-4K Skyhawk Transferred 12/Jul/1984 to the Royal New Zealand Air Force and then returned and painted back to its original Royal Australian Navy markingsand displayed in 2012

During 1953 a standard Varsity from the production run of 163, WJ900, was selected for conversion at Hurn to Sigint capability for Sweden (and was replaced by an extra aircraft for the RAF, XD366). Two Canberras were also obtained for similar purposes. The arrival of two Caravelles in 1971 rendered these aircraft obsolete and the Varsity was fortunately set aside for preservation, along with one of the Canberras
