A Handley Page Victor is evident under the tail, awaiting conversion to K Mk2 tanker status. This was my place of work, where cameras were prohibited a rule that did not seem to be enforced the day before the Airshow was on. Very little work seemed to be done either!

This was my place of work where even taking a camera into the premises was a disciplinary offence. I managed to snatch this photograph at lunch-time when no-one was about. In 1989 this aircraft went to the Vallance By-Ways Collection, which became the Gatwick Aviation museum ten years later.
