Operated by the Aeroplane & Armament Exprimental Establishment at Boscombe Down from February 1955 and sold for spares in late 1968.

Built for the RAF as MW232 in January 1946. serving 511 Squadron. Bought by Dan-Air in 1954 and operated as a freighter until retirement in April 1964. Now preserved at Duxford.

This Mosquito FB.VI served 613 (City of Manchester) Squadron on active operations between 26 April 1944 and 10 March 1945, latterly when based at Cambrai-Epinoy in northern France. It has just been painted in 'D-Day stripes' for low level operations over Normandy to support the Allied landings. The stripes partially obscure its serial and code. Obtained 50 years ago.

Delivered new to United Airlines as N6348C in September 1957. Converted to freighter in December 1960 and sold in December 1964. Served Dan-Air from March 1966 until stored in June 1969.

Built by DH at Hatfield in late 1943. Served 613 (City of Manchester) Squadron based at RAF Lasham and flown on ultra low level strikes over France hitting railways, V1 sites etc. Two practice bombs are on the underwing pylons. From 613 Squadron Association.

To compliment my flying shot of this aircraft - just a pity it wasn't a sunny day. Delivered to BEA 11.52, became '108' with the R Jordanian AF in 5.60 and to Dan-Air 2.63

Acquired by Afghanistan's largest private airline in 6.09 (ex TC-JET) and in for a double engine change

First flew 4.2.62 and to Flying Tigers as N448T. Rolled out at Southend for TAC as G-AWWB on 22.1.69 and re-reg VR-HHC 28.11.75. To N908L 23.4.80 and scrapped Greensboro NC 1995.

An attempt to fly from Southend to Chivenor for the NATO Day in Auster G-AMFP took us overhead Lasham. Due to headwinds we never made it to Devon... this dodgy shot was taken with a 400mm hanging out in the slipstream. The 1959-build Comet was reduced to spares by Dan-Air by 3.73, while their Ambassador (G-ALZO) ultimately went on to be superbly restored at Duxford. Soon after this, it became the only survivor of the type in the world with the scrapping of G-ALZP at West Malling

Although reportedly some parts of the real G-AMSU were used in the preparation of this Dak for display, it was really G-AMPP which served Dan-Air between 1961 and 1971 after an RAF career. The aircraft was removed to France in 1991, then to the Netherlands in 2002. Finally it went to Berlin in 2005, to be used for the making of a film about the Airlift, to represent crashed Dakota KN491, which went down on 24 Jan 1949 in East Germany while approaching Lübeck-Blankensee. When filming was completed, the remains of the aircraft went to Olawa, Poland.
