During 1948 to 1949 a total of 430 Yak-17s were produced. From 1951 to 1953 11 of the type were delivered to Poland and used to convert pilots from Yak-9s to jet-powered Yak-23s and to train new pilots. This particular Yak-17 flew with the Polish AF with serial 4 but was transferred in 1953 to the Instytut Lotnictwa (Institute of Aviation, hence IL on the nose), registered SP-GLM and used to prepare test pilots for flight testing of the new TS-11 Iskra, then under development. After the final flight in 1960 it was transferred to the museum.

Of the three museum Yak-18s, this is the only one with a military background. It was built in 1954 and delivered to the Oficerska Szkoła Lotnicza nr 4 at Dęblin in June 1955. In late 1960 it became SP-BRI with the Kraków aeroclub (where the other two have flown as well) and in 1972 it was given to the museum. Repainted as shown in 2005.

Built in 1943 and in Soviet service initially. Taken on by the Polish air force as 05 in August 1951, used by the Officers Flying School in Dęblin. Operated by LOT as SP-LDA for a few months mid-1965 and returned to the air force as 027. Said to have been the last airworthy Polish Li-2 until 1974. Repainted several times at the museum, in full markings again as shown since 2008.

This UC-78 was TOC by the USAAF as 43-31827 but crashed due to engine failure at Upper Heyford in 1944. After the end of the war Poland bought 21 surplus Bobcats, of which 14 were returned to service, including this example by PZL at Mielec, and the rest used for spares. This plane went on to fly for LOT as SP-GEM and then in 1952 for the Instytut Lotnictwa (Institute of Aviation) as SP-GLC. After decommissioning in 1967, SP-GLC was handed over to the Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego and is on display in its Instytut Lotnictwa colour scheme.

This is the only example built of the Żuraw (Crane), a Polish utility and liaison aircraft that first flew in May 1951 but did not enter production. The lack of a sufficiently powerful engine and the fact that the airframe weight was 160 kg heavier than expected meant performance was poor. The plane was shelved because Poland bought a licence to produce the superior Yak-12 and the Żuraw proved to be the last design by LWD. This prototype was operated for a time by the Instytut Lotnictwa (Institute of Aviation) but withdrawn in 1960 and passed on to the museum in 1963.

A USAF machine for perhaps two years, from which period paint layers were still on the airframe after more than 30 years. Confiscated by North Vietnam in 1975 after the fall of Saigon and brought to Poland for examination in 1977. Acquired by the museum in 1992. Restoration eventually started in 2015, with the show result since 2017.

With this fighter, the most famous British type of WW1, eleven German planes were downed by two different pilots. After an emergency landing at the front, it was tested by the Germans and made part of Göring's Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung. The collection was moved to Poland after coming under air attack in Berlin in 1943.

Built in 1992 and used for just 10 years. Preserved/stored at Radom, marked for upgrade in 2006 but that was cancelled, and in this museum since 2008. The tanks are on supports rather than attached to the wing, presumably to avoid extra loads on the airframe.

The RWD-21 is a two-seat, cantilever low-wing wooded touring aircraft that was intended to be simple, cheap and easy to fly. This is the prototype and first flew in February 1939. At the outbreak of WWII five aircraft had been completed. In September 1939 this plane and SP-BRH were flown to Romania where they survived the war. In Romania SP-BRE was re-registered and flown as YR-VEN but returned in 1948 to Poland and became SP-AKG with the Warsaw Aeroklub. It joined this super museum in 1963 and was subsequently restored to its pre-WWII colour scheme and registration.

The Flaming (Flamingo) is a Polish STOL intended as a successor to the successful utility aircraft PZL-104 Wilga. This is the first prototype and was first flown in November 1989. A second prototype was flown in July 1991 (SP-PRD), also on display at the Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego. However, problems with funding at the outbreak of the 1980s and 1990s and the political upheaval at that time, coupled with the wish to prioritise the PZL-130 Orlik trainer program caused the Flaming program to be suspended.

The museum's Iskra 1415 has been refurbished and repainted at Bydgoszcz in 2021 to represent Indian air force machine W1741. That was the serial of the first Iskra delivered to the type's only user outside Poland. Interestingly, the last of two other Indian TS-11s that were W1741 at some point, has been preserved in Poland for some time as Polish AF 432 - but not this one.

Aircraft keep being repostioned while the museum continues to improve its collection and facilities, and this M-4P is one of them. Note the drip pans that seem to indicate there are still working components in this rare airplane.

The only foreign customer for the Iskra was the Indian AF, which operated a total of 64 Iskra bis D aircraft from 1975 until 2004. The museum has repainted Iskra 1415 into the scheme worn by Indian Iskra W1741 as it underwent overhaul at Bydgoszcz

In 1948 LWD developed the Zuch 1 trainer and aerobatic aircraft from the LWD Junak. The aircraft was powered by a Czech Walter Minor 160 hp inline engine, however, the Poles were refused a licence for production of these engines. Therefore, the Zuch 2 was developed with a German Siemens Bramo radial engine instead but this produced only 116 hp. The Zuch 2 was unsurprisingly inferior to the Zuch 1 and only 5 were built, these were operated by flying clubs until 1955. This example is now on display at this super museum.
