At its peak in January 1970, the Luftwaffe fleet consisted of 310 G.91 R/3 and 40 G.91T aircraft. However, the Luftwaffe was always rather disappointed by the type's perfomance and so they were gradually replaced by the Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet. The last G.91 aircraft was officially retired in 1982. This restored nose section is on display at the Luftfahrt- und Technik-Museumspark Merseburg.

Actually this Hunter never flew with the Patrouille Suisse display team. It was painted in the same anniversary colours as the Patrouille Suisse Hunters in 1994. Than these received '30 years' markings on the fin. In 2014 HB-RVQ got '50 years' markings.

It was stored in damaged state until August 2011 when the wreck was sold to Switzerland. It is now restored, but not (yet?) taken up in the Swiss civil register.
