Two C2 Greyhounds from the USS Enterprise were based here at Prestwick for 2 weeks and I was lucky to see this one doing some circuits and showing good propwash.(D60 ISO 1/25th & F9.5 300mm)

A nice Il-62 seen here crossing runway 06/24 on its way to the S-apron. At that time it was still an active part of Russia's governmental transport fleet (Rossiya State Transport Company), but its CofA expired in Jan 2007. It was then stored at the Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO) factory at Kazan, Russia, and it was still there by Oct 2020.

Photo 1 of 2 (see here). This Tristar suffered a compressor stall in engine #1 during the take-off run for a Dutch Caribbean Airlines Amsterdam-Curaçao flight. The scene here is a few seconds later, showing the subsequent high-energy Rejected Take-Off (RTO) on rwy 24, causing significant damage to the landing gear. The aircraft was stored for repairs, but a second attempt three weeks later saw a repeat of the problem. It then remained stored at Schiphol for three years, until ferried to Lissabon on 20 July 2007, and on to Victorville, CA a month later for continued storage. In Jan 2014 it was acquired by TriStar History and Preservation Inc. and reregd to N91011, then sold to Orbital Sciences Corp. in April 2018.

This was the situation on runway 24 at Schiphol, 25 minutes after this former Air Portugal TriStar (ex CS-TEC, SE-DVF) executed a high-energy rejected Take-Off following an compressor stall in the #1 engine (see other photo). This RTO caused major damage to the landing gear, which kept it from vacating the runway. It blocked Schiphol's most-used runway for many hours. It would be three years before the aircraft would finally leave the airport. Following many years of continued storage at Vacaville, CA it was registered to TriStar History and Preservation Inc. as N91011 in Feb 2014, then to Orbital Sciences Corp. in April 2018. Apologies for the heat haze in this distant shot.

Delivered to Martinair in 1987, and served with them for 20 years, until sold to GirJet in 2007 as EC-KEP. They used it for only one year, selling it as N652AP in 2008. It was acquired by Rayyan Air in 2009, as AP-BIB, and then by Aerospace One in 2013 as SX-ASC. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Sharjah a year later. It was still there in late 2016, but its current status is unclear.

Like all DAS aircraft, this too carries additional ANA Aviation Services titles. Originally this aircraft was British Caledonian G-BEBM, delivered in 1977, and following the take-over it went to British Airways in 1988. In 1999 it was acquired by Gemini Air Cargo as N608GC and converted to freighter. DAS Air Cargo bought it in 2003 and operated it for only 3 years. In 2006 it became N811SL and was stored until acquired by Kelowna in 2008 as C-GKFA. They operated it for Purolator Courier until withdrawn from use in early 2015. A few months later it was scrapped at Hamilton, ON, Canada.

Leased from Fly Air for a few months only, from January 2004 until July 2004, and still in their colours. Carries small "Operated by Fly Air" titles on the rear fuselage. Ex PP-CLB and JA8292.

One of British Airways' World Tails. This is the colourful Ndebele Martha geometric art, designed by Martha Masanabo from South Africa. Her name is mentioned on the nose and on the rear fuselage. This aircraft served with BA for 22 years, from 1992 until wfu in 2014. It later became N842AT and G-NPTZ.

Initially delivered to British Midland in 1987, but six years later it went to Ansett as VH-CZW. They sold it in 2003 as N191FH, and in 2004 Jet2 acquired it as the G-CELD seen here. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Kemble, UK in late 2015, 28 years old.

Built in 2001. Ex N567GA and N1BN, and later became N123M, N168NJ, N136ZC and N136FX.

Ex C-GEVO, seen here operating for Air Nauticus. Became N84SD in 2005, then N818TS, C-FOXA and PR-VDR. The registration VP-BGG was re-used on a Falcon 7X in June 2007, and again on an Aeroflot Boeing 737 in July 2016.

This Boeing Business Jet (ex N379BJ) was delivered to Multiflight in 2001. In 2005 the reregistered it to P4-BBJ, before selling it to Global Jet Austria as OE-ILX in 2006. Ten years after that it became VP-COH.

Only five months old when this photo was shot, this nice bizjet was not to have an interesting career. It still served with the same owner (Dean Phillips Inc.) and the same registration 14 years later.

Ex N57MK and N57ML. Later became PH-ILZ, N308MM and N50US. The registration D-CFLY was re-used on another Citation 560 (c/n 560-6014) in October 2009.

This previously was Michael Schumacher's aircraft VP-CMC. The meaning of the BSG titles could not be traced. There are many references to BSG Aprilia Holdings Inc. but no such holding ever existed. It was owned by Aprilia Holdings Inc. and operated for BSG.
