It was performing some engine runs. One thing led to another and before we knew it an hour later a friend and I were on board in the cockpit flying Totonto-Rochester (NY)-Poughkeepsie(NY)-Rochester-Toronto with Capt Jim Little and F/O Scot Taylor. We helped load and unload the cargo and enjoyed a great dinner with Jim and Scot at the end of the day. Also got to meet Carl Millard himself. A great and totally unplanned and unexpected day out.

Owned by Millardair. Difficult to photograph due to other aircraft around it. Retired 1990. In 2000 it was sold to a film company and used for a scene in the movie Dracula 2000.

Written off Saint Louis-Lambert International 9 Jan 84. From the ASN report: The first two attempts to takeoff were abandoned due to slow aircraft performance. Takeoff was continued on the third attempt, but both engines lost power upon gear retraction. An attempt was made to make an emergency landing on a highway, but the left wing struck a pole. The aircraft crashed through a fence and struck a highway embankment. PROBABLE CAUSE: Jet-A fuel had been used when refueling the aircraft, instead of 100LL Avgas.

Crashed into Lake Eire for reasons unknown 6 Jun 85 en route from Oshawa ONT (Canada) to Cleveland OH (USA).

Note that Millardair had two C-54s registered C-GQIC. This was the first. The other was c/n 27343 registered 1/88.
