It was only with ALM 4 months and this may have been its last day, or indeed already flying with Capitol again. The aircraft was originally PH-DCG with KLM. It then went to Belgian International Air Services as OO-CMB. Also operated, as OO-CMB, with Delta International, Pomair, Martinair and Garuda International. In May 75 it became N903CL with Capitol International Airways. Leased to ALM Jun 78 to Oct 78. In May 79 it went to ONA Overseas National Airways and finally to United African Airlines in Mar 80 as 5A-DGN. Retired and broken up in Luxembourg Oct 81 with 54,011 flight hours.

Ex USAF 51-17636. Written off Vigie Airport, St Lucia, 30 Nov 81 when the aircraft crashed and caught fire after returning with an engine failure.

Originally N7547A with American Airlines and N780PA with Pan American. Converted to freighter in Oct 76. Retired from airline service with Ecuatoriana in Dec 84 and then to the Boeing Military Airplane Co in Davis Monthan AFB AZ.

Originally delivered to American Air Lines as N94252. Also operated with Southeast Airlines, Ozark Airlines and Mohawk Airlines as well as a fair number of corporate operators. It was in the ownership of a private owner when on 15 Feb 1980 sometime after departure from Port-au-Prince it returned due to engine problems. An emergency landing was made with the left engine and wing on fire. The three occupants had disappeared by the time rescue services arrived. The aircraft was carrying marijuana.

Originally N7227U with United Air Lines. From Fiesta it went to Caledonian Airlines (Lebanon). Returned to Miami in Apr 80 and stored until broken up.

Stored in an awkward area for a photo! Originally N8801E with Delta Air Lines. In Feb 1979 it went to American Jet Industries as N817AJ and converted to a freighter in Apr 79. It then went to an outfit called Ligonair until it joined Profit Express (still as N817AJ) in Jul 81. Seen stored Mojave CA in Dec 84.

The sun was shining here and there but, on this trip, never where I was standing it seems! This aircraft was originally delivered to Eastern Air Lines in Apr 52. It went to Southern Airways in Aug 62 and Florida Airlines sometime in 1978. It ended up with the Holiday Investment Corp in Aug 83. By Jul 92 it was seen in a very derelict state at Saipan.

Converted to Turbo Skyliner in 1969. In 1977 Air Miami started operating Skyliners on scheduled services between Miami and St. Petersburg. In late 1978 the airline purchased Shawnee Airlines and its rights to fly to the Bahamas, and the Skyliners were soon painted in Shawnee colours and put to work on the Bahama routes. In 1980 Air Miami was the first of several commuter airlines to enter into agreement with Air Florida to operate contract flights for them as Air Florida Commuter. With their now much expanded network, Air Miami changed their name to North American Airlines on 1 Dec 1980, but flights continued as Air Florida Commuter until the contract ended on 1 Dec 1981. North American Airlines ceased operations in Dec 1982.

Originally a Convair 340 with Lufthansa until converted to 440. To General Air (Germany) Apr 69. It then went to LACSA Jun 72 first as TI-1091C then TI-LRG. To Air Sunshine in June 77. To Ocean Airways Nov 79. To Air Resorts Airlines Sep 81. On 25 Aug 82 the aircraft collided with a mountain at 11700 feet near Wolf Creek Pass CO., while continuing VFR flight in worsening weather conditions. The aircraft was owned by National Flight Services, but operated by Air Resorts Airlines. The two crew survived the accident.

Acquired Apr 73 Ex Pan American N743PA. To a private owner in May 78. Ended up with another private owner, still as N74303, and allegedly impounded at Freeport, Bahamas, sometime after Mar 81.

Acquired Aug 77 ex United Air Lines (N8207U). Re-reg N578JC Jul 79. Retired Oct 82.

Ex Pan American N410PA, this aircraft had just been acquired by LAP. It was retired in the early 90s.

Owned by F.A. Conner. Following retirement, the aircraft was donated in Oct 1980 to the Dade County Aviation Dept. for fire and rescue training at Miami International. Eventually broken up (possibly cairca 2003).

It had a midair collision 3 Jan 79 with Baron N12WF near Fort Lauderdale FL. Both aircraft landed safely. Damaged beyond repair 23 Jun 79 when it struck an earth bank and a parked Cessna 182 (N7187E) on landing at Homestead FL. The aircraft had been reported stolen and drugs were found on board. Two persons were arrested.
