Inside the hangar after Duxford Autumn Airshow 2013. This H75-C1 was delivered in April 1939 to l'Armée de l'Air. It formed part of Groupe de Chasse II/5 "La Fayette" based at Reims, which was made up of 3ème Escadrille "La Fayette" carrying the Sioux chief emblem from WWI, and SPA 167 "Cigognes." The group was the second to be equipped with the H75 Hawk after GC I/5. GC II/5 was credited with 47.5 confirmed victories that included 24 Bf-109s, and another 23 probable victories during the Battle of France before moving to North Africa with this H75 to join L'Armée de l'Air de Vichy.

Taxiing out for its display at Duxford Autumn Airshow 2013. Built to US Navy requirements, the Bearcat was too late to see combat in the Pacific War. Powered by a P&W R-2800 Double Wasp similar to the Hellcat, it was smaller and lighter, giving it a faster climb. The type equipped USN squadrons, though only saw combat in Indochina as recce and napalm equipped ground-attack 'Beercats' of ten Groupes of l'Armée de l'Air and with the VNAF. This ex-USN recce F8F-2P joined The Fighter Collection in 1981.

Taxiing out to display at Duxford Autumn Airshow 2013. This Warhawk survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on 7 Dec 1941 as it was in the hangar for repairs after a ground loop. On 24 Jan 1942 it crashed on Oahu, killing the pilot. In 1989 the wreck was fully recovered and underwent restoration. It carries the markings of White 284 of the 6th PS, 18th PG based at Wheeler Field. The carburetor air intake is mounted between two 0.50 cal MGs, changed from intakes in the XP-40 oversized gun fairings. The coolant and oil radiator scoop is smaller and set further aft compared to later models.

Taxiing out for its display at Duxford Autumn Airshow 2013. This is a combat veteran Spitfire that was built at Castle Bromwich in 1942. It was assigned to No. 315 (Polish) Sqn. on May 7, 1942 and to No. 317 (Polish) Sqn. on Sept. 5, 1942, both at Woodvale. The Spitfire wears the code of the latter squadron, and several Polish pilots were reunited with the aircraft in 2000 and 2004. It featured in the 1968 Battle of Britain movie as a static airframe.

The modern fire tender in the background is the most apparent giveaway seven decades later. "City of Winnipeg" comes in for a smooth landing at the end of Duxford Autumn Airshow 2013. Built in 1942, she has seven confirmed kills, making her one of the top scoring survivors. Six kills were scored with No. 501 (County of Gloucester) Sqn, after which the Spitfire joined No. 19 Sqn. and moved to No. 402 Sqn. RCAF in April 1944.

Evening on the flight line with "Miss Pick Up" and other warbirds after Duxford Autumn Airshow 2013. RCAF PBYs were ordered under contract CAN-78, designated by Consolidated as the Model 28-5MC for 'Canada' and 28-5AMC for 'amphibian'. Later, Boeing made the PBY at Vancouver with Consolidated-built hulls, and Canadian Vickers built them in Quebec. The RCAF named the flying boat as Canso. This aircraft built in Cartierville is a Canso A, equivalent to the PBY-5A. One of two Catalina VCs posthumously went to Canso A pilot Flt Lt D. Hornell for sinking U-1225.
