In the '80s a new MM/APS-705 omnidirectional radar was retrofitted and installed below the center fuselage, being the new radar system common to the AB-212ASW. Since Vergiate was home of the Agusta plant that had the license for these Sikorsky models, this displayed helicopter could have been a just overhauled and newly retrofitted machine.

It was sent to the TLP as a spare aircraft, but did a local flight much to the delight of the dozens of spotters who had travelled here to see this beautiful aircraft.
