Svitlana Kominko, CEO of canadian NGO "Maple Hope Foundation" involved in the project, made an interesting statement (quote): "The donation of a Sikorsky medevac helicopter is not only extraordinarily generous...it is also historically significant, as Igor Sikorsky himself was born in Kyiv and surely had no idea that his invention would (one day) become part of the effort to save lives in his own native country."

Built in 1981, flew for the University of Kentucky Medical Center as N5426U till 1993, then for PHI Inc between 1994 and 2003. Joined HeliJet in October 2003 and subcontracted to BC Ambulance, for which it flew as an air ambulance / HEMS helicopter till February 2025, the month it was donated to war-torn Ukraine. It arrived there in April 2025 and is now being operated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine. The donation was made possible by the two NGO's "Maple Hope Foundation" (Canada) and the "Ukrainian World Congress". Pictured in the old BC Ambulance c/s. See also next image.

Imported new by Carson Air in 2023 and here arriving from Prince George (CYXS) on a medical flight using fixed call-sign "Carson (CRN) 111".

Built in 2002, this airframe served with Canal Air as N397U till April 2011, when it became another EMS helicopter for BC Ambulance, operated and maintained by HeliJet. Waiting here for another EMS mission on a cold and rainy winter day.

This 2007 Bell 412 was first equipped for off shore work with Bristow Helicopters. After working in the USA, UK and Nigeria, Summit Helicopters acquired the helicopter in November 2016. It flies under contract for BC Emergency Health Services / BC Ambulance.
