The SAAB J29 Tunnan first flew in September 1948 and was the first Western European aircraft with swept wings. It was produced in 661 copies and despite the aircraft's rounded shape, it was fast and agile. The type was in active service between 1950 and 1976. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
