The SAAB J29 Tunnan first flew in September 1948 and was the first Western European aircraft with swept wings. It was produced in 661 copies and despite the aircraft's rounded shape, it was fast and agile. The type was in active service between 1950 and 1976.

Delivered to the Swedish Air Force as a Saab J29B Tunnan on 29 November 1954, this airframe was later upgraded to J29E and later J29F, as seen here. It first appeared in the excellent Aeroseum in 2011.

The museum is housed in the underground hangars of Säve. Behind the Tunnan are a Draken and a Viggen.
