Delivered to Capitol International Airways as N4907C in 1968. Reregistered as N907CL in 1976. To UPS in 1984 and converted to a DC-8-73(CF). Reregistered as N867UP in 1985. Withdrawn from use at Roswell, NM in 2009 and scrapped in 2011.

Later re-reg N907CL. To UPS Nov 1984 as N867UP. Retired Mar 2009.

In the newer livery of the time. It had previously been registered N4907C with Capitol. Eight months after this shot I was to fly on this aircraft from Los Angeles to New York JFK (4hrs 34mins). And again in October 83 from BRU to JFK ( 8hrs 36mins). with Capt. Elvert New. In Nov 84 the aircraft was sold to UPS and re-reg N867UP. It was retired in Mar 2009.

Acquired Nov 84 and converted to 73AF ex N907CL Capitol Air and N4907C Capitol Air International both with which it was a 63CF. It was retired in Mar 2009. Interestingly (for me anyway), I had flown on it as N907CL twice: once from LAX to JFK in Dec 81 and the second time from BRU to JFK in Oct 83.

The Americans really like the Octoberfest in Munich, two Capitol DC-8s came in for this event. By the way, we Germans like it, too.
