Delivered new 30th Sep 1983 and became G-JEAF with Jersey European 27th Dec 1990

Approaching runway 23 holding point, flying the early morning schedule to Birmingham. This route was last flown by Flybe DHC-8-400s until their collapse in March 2020. Easyjet had planned to begin GLA-BHX service, but Covid-19 has put that on hold.

This F.27 was originally intended for Air Zaire but was delivered to East West Airlines as VH-EWW in October 1983. It went to Jersey Euopean in December 1990 as G-JEAF and work began for freighter conversion in August 1994. It then had periods on lease to Star Air (OY-SRD) and Eureka (G-JEAF) before joining BAC Express in September 2000 and a lease to SixCargo in April 2001. BAC Express had a maintenance facility at EDI and probably is the reason for this visit. The plane was bought by Executive Jet Support in August 2009 and later scrapped at Bergamo (BGY).

Taxiing to runway 05 the F27s were eventually replaced by CRJ'S on the Glasgow-Birmingham route.

VH-EWW was sold in the UK as G-JEAF in December 1990.

VH-EWW was with East-West from October 1983 to August 1989. It was then leased to Charter Cruise Air before being sold in the UK as G-JEAF.

First entered the Dutch Aircraft Register as PH-EXE. it was intended for Air Zaire then Air Sinia, but enterend the Australian Register as VH-EWW on 30th Sept 1983. and registered to East West Airlines it arrived in Tamworth on the 2nd Oct 1983. it was named :City of Devonport" operation started 15th Oct. 1983' it was leased to Charter Cruise Air. Also registered G-JEAF - OY-SRD.
