Delivered to Qantas in September 2008. On November 4, 2010 the aircraft suffered an uncontained engine failure of the #2 engine during after takeoff from Singapore. the crew shut down the engine and the aircraft made a safe landing at Singapore after dumping fuel. The aircraft was returned to service in April 2012. Stored at Sydney between March - July 2020. Stored at Victorville in July 2020.

Seeing as there were plenty of pictures of VH-OQA I hesitated to add, but this photo could be it's last flight as it flew into VCV this morning for the very least as temporary storage. I do not know the plans for the A380's going in there, but it appears that at least one; VH-OQJ will not be leaving as it's parked now in the dirt on the north end.

The first A380 for Qantas arriving from Hamburg - Finkenwerder in order to be delivered to QFA few days later. Named "Nancy-Bird Walton" and will be VH-OQA.

This was the first visit of an A380 to Adelaide and was part of the Qantas introductory tour of the A380.

The first landing in Melbourne by Qantas' first A380 on a crew training flight - short final for Runway 34 at 7.47 am. Flight tested as F-WWSK, making its first flight on 25 January 2008. Registered VH-OQA on 4 September 2008 and delivered to Qantas 19 September. Flown to Australia, arriving Sydney 21 September.

The Dugong's huge wing nearly blots out the sun! The aircraft was ferrying from Sydney with no passengers to operate QF93 to LA.
