Dan-Air's first Comet. Leased to East African Airways as 5Y-ALD on 8 January 1970, and returned to Dan Air as G-APDK on 23 March 1970. It was withdrawn from use at Lasham on 7 May 1973 and used by the Air Cadets until it was broken up in September 1980. G-APDO c/n 6416 is behind, withdrawn from use in June 1973 and broken up at Lasham in June 1974.

A poor quality shot, but useful as it illustrates a little known short-term lease prior to MEA receiving its own aircraft beginning 19 December 1960. This lease ran from 1 October, with the aircraft entering service on 30 October, so here likely on a crew training mission.

Delivered to BOAC as G-APDK in 1957. Leased briefly to East African as 5Y-ALD then to Dan-Air as G-APDK in 1970. Withdrawn from use at Lasham in 1973. Donated to the Air Scouts in 1974 in return for York G-ANTK going back to Dan-Air for preservation. Scrapped in 1980.
