The Yak-38 was the Soviet equivalent of the Harrier, a fighter-bomber capable of vertical take-offs and landings from aircraft carriers. Ex 14 yellow, this example is preserved with the excellent museum at Monino, which has two of these aircaft in its collection.

The Yak-38 (NATO reporting name 'Forger') was the Soviet Union's only operational VTOL strike fighter aircraft, developed specifically for the Kiev-class aircraft carriers. This upgraded M-version (Forger-A), one of 50 built, is on display at the Central Museum of the Air Forces at Monino.
