Delta Golf was the third British production Concorde, built for evaluation testing and last flying on 24 Dec 1981 having accumulated 1282 hrs. Then stored at Filton and used as a source of spares for the BA fleet, donating nose to G-BOAF when that aircraft was damaged in 1995. Moved to Brooklands in 2004 in five sections, where as of 2006 it provides Concorde flight experience simulations.

Part of a $500m re-branding project by Pepsi Cola included this spectacular Concorde repaint, which lasted for just 10 days at the beginning of April 1996. 2,000 hours of painting work were needed at Orly for the surprise unveiling at Gatwick on 2.4.96, in the presence of a number of show business and sports stars. A promotional tour of 10 cities across Europe and the Middle East followed. Supersonic flight above M1.70 over 20 mins in the blue paintwork was not allowed due to heat concerns

Some testing of the Concorde's sonic boom over land was done in Australia in 1972. After it entered service, visits by Air France and British Airways were confined to luxury air cruises. Landings and takeoffs at noise-sensitive Sydney airport was always over Botany Bay. The long legs of subsonic wide-bodies had nullified much of the Concorde's speed advantage. When launched, Concorde would have been 12-15 hours quicker London-Sydney than a typical 707 service. But against a 1980s one-stop 747 service the saving was only four hours.

This was the first Concorde arrival at Ringway. G-BOAA was operating a schedule from IAD to LHR when fog at the latter caused a diversion 'UP North'. It returned to base next day watched by thousands. We now have our very own G-BOAC esconced in its own tailor-made hangar.
