Delivered to the RAF in 1948 and saw service with 207 Sqdn at Northolt and 21 Sqdn at Andover; posted to RNAS Culdrose 1978-81. To East Surrey College, Redhill then Goodwood during 2001. To Redhill Aerodrome and restored by East Sussex Avn Group - during total strip, many of its former schemes and badges were revealed, which spanned back some 55 years. Registration G-KOOL was officially cancelled Jan 2012, but it had last flown as such in the early 1980s. Moved to the Yorkshire Air Museum later in 2012.

A trip in an Auster afforded this unusual view. First reg to Canadair 4.63 as CL-44D-8 CF-PBG-X, to Loftleidir TF-LLF and converted to the stretched CL-44J 1966. To Cargolux 4 months before this shot and then sold as N4993U in 1976, later becoming TL-AAL, 5A-CVB, 5A-DGJ, 9Q-CQS and lastly EI-BRP with Aer Turas 1.86. Bought by Heavylift 5.89, wfu SEN 11.90 and b/u 8.92
