Built as an F4, converted to a T7 sometime after June 1957, and issued to 229 OCU at RAF Chivenor on 12 August 1957, where it was in service for six years. Converted to a T8 for the Royal Navy, entering service at Brawdy in February 1965, and moving to Yeovilton in June 1969. After a short period of storage at Shawbury from May 1995 it became RAF Valley's gate guard as 9249M on 26 November 1996. It was moved to the Anglesey Transport Museum for preservation in July 2018.
