Reportedly returned to the US Navy in mid-1991. But during its arrival at AMARC on 5 October 1992, it still carried clearly the USCG seal. Possibly only a administrative return to US Navy? The Starlifter was scrapped at AMARG on 20 January 2010. AMARG and AMARC in one paragraph? In May 2007, the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) was transferred to the 309th Maintenance Wing, and the center was renamed the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG).
