In 1988 it was exported to the Netherlands to become a war bird and displayed as serial G29 (PH-KHV) from 2003. (See Photo ID: 50195)

Another ex-RCAF Expeditor 3NM from the No. 1005 Technical Storage Detachment at Saskatoon. Although registered with the FAA it ended up in storage on a farm in Quebec, still in RCAF markings with serial 2348.

Operated by St. Felicien Air Service of Quebec. On 12 April 1975 it was damaged at Fort Chimo/ON when a ski malfunctioned on landing. Cancelled from the register in 1981.

Sadly this aircraft was abandoned in Nigeria during the 1970s. Similar fates befell quite a few survey planes when they outlived their usefulness.

At the Saskatoon storage depot. It wasn't until 50 years later that I found out it was a miss-paint for N6148.

After its RCAF service this Beech ended up stored at Pine Falls, MB in the 1970s. It was salvaged from there by 17 Wing in the late 1980s or early 1990s and trucked to Winnipeg. It was restored as RCAF 1528 (its real identity) and placed on display as seen here in the 17 Wing Stevenson Parade Square near the School Of Aerospace Studies at CFB Winnipeg. It replaced another Beech 3NM, RCAF 1577, that had been on display here since 1975 but had deteriorated too badly. 1577 was moved to 17 Wing's dump/storage area, where it was last seen in 1998. In 2005, 1528 was removed from display and moved into a temporary hangar for restoration, seen as such in May 2008 with its outer wings separate. Still there by 2017, unfinished.

Built for the RCAF in 1952 and civil registered in 1971. At this time and still in 2021, it was based at Ear Falls (CJE8), but here on winter lay-up waiting for the lake ice to melt.

Delivered to the RCAF in 1952 as serial 2318 then civilianized in 1965 as above. It had floats installed by Green Airways in 1970 and it stayed that way through ownership changes including sale by Vancouver Island Air when it was ferried across the N. Atlantic to Belgium for display at a recreational park. Registered as N18XW to a US trustee in 2016.

Here in operations with Walsten Air Service and in October 1999 exported as N21PN. Cancelled as expired on 31 January 2020.

Although conceived and built in thousands as a land-plane, many of the surviving Beech 18s left in Canada found a niche in the float-plane configuration, owing to its superior speed over other aircraft in the same cost & payload range. This one crashed and burned in 1996 after hitting trees while low flying.

Struck off charge by the RCAF in 1968 and first registered in 1975. Since then it has changed operator 15 times up until 2021. Currently with Showalter's Fly-In Service in Northwestern Ontario.

In 2015 this Expeditor was sold by Vancouver Island Air and in June/July 2015 it was ferried on floats from Campbell River to the Pairi Daiza Gardens & Zoo theme park near the town of Brugelette, Belgium. Its flying days are over. It is the end of an era now as it is the last of the several Beech 18's that once operated at Campbell River. It was replaced with a turbine DHC-3 Otter.
