This 106 was delivered to the USAF on 30 Sep'57, was on loan to Convair as a test a/c, flew from Edwards AFB (CA) up to mid-'58. Rebuilt to JF-106A in '60, It became a TAC Conventional to Vertical instruments test a/c with Convair in early 1961. From Aug'61 it had a normal Fighter Interceptor Squadron career in the USAF. It arrived at AMARC on 20 Jul'87 for storage, and departed for American Electronic Laboratories, East Alton (IL) on 5 Feb'90. Cvtd to QF-106A for 82nd ATS (code AD-111) at Tyndall. It crashed on its first Not Under Live Local Operator (NULLO) flight at White Sands on 27 Jan'95

This 106 arrived at AMARC on 1 Apr'85 and was seen here at the ramp. It only left on 27 Mar'93. It departed for American Electronic Laboratories (AEL), East Alton (IL) where it was converted to QF-106A. It received code AD237 with the 82nd ATS and was shot down with an AIM-120 after its final take-off from Tyndall AFB (FL) on 5 Jun'96. Also 59-0025 is seen (ex 5th FIS, inventory code FN072) is seen. This 106 arrived on 1 Apr'85 and departed for AEL on 23 Feb'93. It crashed unmanned (AD233 with 82nd ATS) at Tyndall on 8 Feb'94. Why both were on the arrival/departure ramp in 1989 is not clear.

Delivered from Convair at San Diego to the USAF in June 1960, served the 87th Fighter Interceptor Squadron and the 119th FIS. It arrived at AMARC on 8 March 1993 with inventory code FN003. It was moved from the storage depot to this arrival/departure ramp in August 1989 and prepared for departure to American Electronic Laboratories, East Alton (IL) on 8 March 1990. It was then converted to QF-106A (AD236). The Delta Dart was then assigned to the 82nd ATS and shot down with an AIM-120 after departure from Tyndall AFB (FL) over the Gulf of Mexico on 19 September 1996.

REow and rows of F-106s... 59-0049 is leading such a row. The former New Jersey ANG aircraft arrived at AMARC on 20 July 1988, received inventory code FN0190, departed on 16 November 1992 for the American Electronic Laboratories, East Alton (IL) where it was converted to QF-106A (AD222). It was assigned to 82nd ATRS and shot down as an aerial target on 18 April 1995.

Converted to QF-106A (AD237) in 1993. Shot down by AIM-120 AMRAAM missile on 5 June 1996.

The "Chase" tail markings refer to the aircraft's use in support of the B-1B programme. It arrived at AMARC on 3 March 1987 and left on 7 January 1992 for drone conversion. As a QF-106A, it was shot down by an AIM-7M on 11 May 1994.

When development of the Delta Dart began in 1955, it was seen as an upgraded Delta Dagger and the original intention was to designate it as the F-102B. But so major where the enhancements that a new designation was warranted. The F-106 eventually bowed out of service in 1988 when the last ANG units retired them. This one is immaculately presented in the colours of the 5th FIS, Minot AFB, ND

Arrived at AMARC 5 July 1983 and placed in storage with park code FN012. When seen here, it has had its Spraylat protection removed, perhaps temporarily as it continued to be held at AMARC until it flew out on 3 February 1992. It was converted to a QF-106A drone, number AD184. After it left the the runway on an unmanned takeoff at Tyndall AFB, FL in 1995 it was taken out of service and later dumped in the Gulf of Mexico to form a fishing reef.

Previously with the 498th Fighter Interceptor Squadron when it was headquartered in Washington state, 56-457 moved to the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at McChord AFB, WA in July 1963. Serving until August 1983, the aircraft was next with the 87th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, KI Sawyer AFB, MI until retired to AMARC in 1985. Converted to a QF-106 drone in the last half of 1990, it was destroyed by an AIM-7M November 13, 1991.
