This former 184th TFS Super Sabre is technically still a F-100F although it is already painted in the QF-100 colors. The aircraft arrived at AMARC on 25 September 1979, it received inventory code FE604, and is seen here when it was about to leave for Tracor Flight Systems Inc., Mojave (CA). Only a few days later it was seen at Mojave (see AirHistory Photo ID 266460). With Tracor it was modified to QF-100F. It was later assigned to the 475th WEG at Tyndall AFB (FL). It's fate is unknown to me, but most probably the aircraft was shot down over the Gulf of Mexico.

Stripped of many parts, and its serial incorrectly written as 55-1773 with a thick marker on the tail, the F-100F is awaiting maintenance for departure to Tracor Flight Systems Inc., Mojave (CA). The Super Sabre arrived at AMARC on 3 May 1979 and departed on 12 February 1990. It returned to service as a QF-100F with the 475th Weapons Evaluation Group with 63773/409 at Tyndall AFB (FL). It's fate is unclear, but it was most probably written off in 1991 as a target drone.

This 1976 built Skyhawk flew initially with VMA-331 of the USMC. It was transferred to the US Navy with VX-5, followed by NWC, and NATC up into the early 1980s. It returned to the USMC with VMA-211, -311, -214, -311 and agin -214 before it was stored at AMARC on 7 July 1989 and still seen on the arrival ramp on 12 August 1989. It remained stored until 21 October 2003 when it was moved to the Barry Goldwater Range, Gila Bend (AZ). The Hot Rod became a range target and was last reported in February 2004.

This 106 arrived at AMARC on 1 Apr'85 and was seen here at the ramp. It only left on 27 Mar'93. It departed for American Electronic Laboratories (AEL), East Alton (IL) where it was converted to QF-106A. It received code AD237 with the 82nd ATS and was shot down with an AIM-120 after its final take-off from Tyndall AFB (FL) on 5 Jun'96. Also 59-0025 is seen (ex 5th FIS, inventory code FN072) is seen. This 106 arrived on 1 Apr'85 and departed for AEL on 23 Feb'93. It crashed unmanned (AD233 with 82nd ATS) at Tyndall on 8 Feb'94. Why both were on the arrival/departure ramp in 1989 is not clear.

Two parts, one Super Sabre. This jet was controlled cut in half awaiting an engine. The "Hun" arrived at AMARC on 13 October 1977 and was moved to Tracor Flight Systems Inc., Mojave, (CA) on an unknwon date to me. Databases report a departure date on 3 June 1986. But this picture was made some three years later. The F-100F was converted to QF-100F with Tracor and received 82nd ATS code 410. It was shot down over the Gulf of Mexico as an aerial target by an AIM-7M missile on 20 September 1991.
