This former AH-64A (88-0279, c/n PV598) was converted to AH-64D by 2002 and therefore received a new serial. The attack helicopter received some heavy maintenance in a clamshell at Buehring after some combat weeks in Iraq during Operation Inherent Resolve. At the time this picture was made, the Black Hawk was assigned to the 1-10th Avn Reg/77th CAB. The latter was deployed to support Operation Inherent Resolve , the fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria. Camp Buehring in Kuwait is used for maintenance of the helicopters as well as rest and R&R for the crew.

The NATO Bergen-Hohne shooting range offers ground and air assetts to prove their skills. Its an amazing place for photography. On the range complex there are some Foreward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) from where the flying hardware is operating, often armed with live munitions. Here a Dutch Apache is taking off from a FARP.
