This former AH-64A (88-0279, c/n PV598) was converted to AH-64D by 2002 and therefore received a new serial. The attack helicopter received some heavy maintenance in a clamshell at Buehring after some combat weeks in Iraq during Operation Inherent Resolve. At the time this picture was made, the Black Hawk was assigned to the 1-10th Avn Reg/77th CAB. The latter was deployed to support Operation Inherent Resolve , the fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria. Camp Buehring in Kuwait is used for maintenance of the helicopters as well as rest and R&R for the crew.
