The Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) was the armed forces of East Germany up to 1990. This MiG-29A was assigned to Jagdfliegergeschwader 3 (JG-3) "Wladimir Komarow" at Preschen air base. The 777 made its first flight on 20 November 1988, was delivered to the NVA in January 1989, and according to NVA data the aircraft only flew some 180 flight hours before it was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 3 October 1990 as 29+18. So... this picture was just on time to immortalize it in NVA colors.

The 607 made its first flight on 29 February 1988, was delivered to the NVA in April 1988, and according to NVA data the aircraft only flew some 376 flight hours before it was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 3 October 1990 as 29+02. So... this picture was just on time to immortalize it in NVA colors.

Inside the Nellis Threat Training Facility, this MiG-29 can be found. It is a former Moldova AF aircraft (ex 12 yellow) the USA bought to prevent resale to "bad" countries. It is c/n 2960717464 but carries '17473' on the canopy (possibly swapped with this one at some point in time).

The Nellis complex preserveres two MiG-29s, this one outside the Threat Training Facility, and another one inside the TTF. Both are former Moldova AF. This one is ex 16 white (still carried on the fin tip in this photo), which was initially painted as 309 red, as seen in this photo. Later repainted as 65 blue, then as 57 red. It has '17473' in the wheelbays.

In 2001 the Ukrainian Falcons (Українські Соколи) visited Izmir - Çiğli during the air show there.

A prototype. Preserved at the Central Aerodrome Museum at the Frunze Central Airfield/Khodynka, Moscow. The museum closed in 2003 and the aircraft moved on. The site was redeveloped.
