Ex-Hirth Air Tankers and US Navy BuNo 37276

Ex-Arizona ANG 52-2761 has been stored at Greybull for many years but is still almost totally intact.

Retired firebomber awaiting her fate in 102 degree temperature at Greybull.

Former RCAF aircraft on display at the Museum of Flight and Aerial Firefighting. This is the second aircraft to carry this registration (ex N3935). The first N5216R (cn 10956) is preserved at Battle Mountain, NV as tanker 137.

Built in 1941 as an A-29 Hudson III and delivered to RAF as BW445. Converted to L18-56 Lodestar standard in 1955. Modified to Dallaero standard in 1964 with panoramic windows etc. Owned by Hawkins & Powers, Greybull, from 1972.

This aircraft seemed to have been picked pretty clean but it was bought by Everts Air Cargo in February 2006 and is currently active and flying freight in Alaska as N747CE.

Ex US Navy UC-27 161628. Served Hawkins & Powers from August 1988 on comms duties.

HS-125 Seies 400A visiting the Yellowstone Regional Airport at Cody, Wyoming.

Ex US Coast Guard P4Y-2G Privateer BuAer66260 flown in firefighting role by Hawkins & Powers. It crashed on 18 July 2002 attacking a fire near Lyons, Colorado.

Ex U.S. Navy BuAer 140441, with code 'PG-12' of VP-65 crudely deleted. Conversion to fire bomber by H&P never materialized, and the aircraft was scrapped in 2005/2006.

Ex USAF 45-57814 and ET-T-12.

Ex Royal Canadian Air Force 22106. Stored at Greybull and still also faintly wears the titles of their Air Transport Command on lower fuselage. Registration N3003 was hand painted on the tail booms (no longer visible at the time of this photo).

Ex USAF KC-97G 53-218. Converted to KC-97L. Last served 191 ARS, Utah ANG. Seen here stored at Greybull, but still in USAF markings with additional Flight 97 Restaurant logo and titles, from the time it was in use as such from 1986 until 1989. The Flight 97 Restaurant was a two-storey restaurant at the airport at McMinnville, OR, with this C-97 aircraft attached to it as a dining room. It opened for business in Feb 1986, after the C-97 had been flown there from Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in Sep 1985. The venture was a failure and the restaurant closed in 1987. The C-97 was put up for auction in 1988, but initially remained unsold. It was eventually sold in Dec 1989 and to the Minnesota ANG Museum in 2000.

Built for USAAF as a KC-97G tanker 52-2698 and later modified to KC-97L. Sold to Hawkins & Powers and converted to C-97G standard. Still active in 2006. Note the Aluminum Overcast nose art.

Delivered to US Navy as a PB4Y Patrol Bomber in 1945, BuAer serial 59882. Sold to Hawkins & Powers at Greybull for water bombing operations.

Tanker No. 121 is being serviced at Greybull with the former bomb bay being open for inspection. Ex US Coast Guard 66302, marks from the former rear side observation blister can still be discerned.
