The Flaming seems to have been a good design at the wrong time and never entered production. It was to be a successor to the Wilga but lacked support and the Wilga 2000 was developed instead. The museum keeps both flying prototypes in its collection, this one without the Lycoming engine that gave it the L designation.

Off the production line as a GR1 model in September 1971 and later converted into a GR1A and GR3. Damaged by small arms fire in the Falklands in June 1982 and repaired in the UK. Instructional airframe in Shrivenham from 1999 to 2006 and to this museum in June of that year. Hopefully it may enjoy a repaint some time.

This F.1 was built ny Clayton and Shuttleworth in Lincoln and is one of only 5 original examples that have survived. From March 30, 1918, it entered into service and desroyed a total of 11 enemy planes (making it possibly the highest scoring WWI plane still extant). In September, 1918, it was forced down intact behind German lines and captured. The plane then became part of Hermann Göring's pre-WWII collection that formed the Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung (German Collection of Aircraft). These were evacuated east in 1943 to avoid Allied bombing and eventually became part of this wonderful museum.

This CL.II is the only surviving example and was the personal aeroplane during WWI of the commander-in-chief of the Imperial German Air Service Kommandierender General Ernst von Hoeppner. It then became part of Hermann Göring's pre-WWII collection that formed the Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung (German Collections of Aircraft). After several pieces were lost during a bombing attack in 1943, the remainder were crudely cut up, packed onto wagons and tranported east for safekeeping. In 1945 the remnants were discovered in very poor condition near the village of Kuźnica Czarnkowska by the Polish Army.

During 1959 and 1960 PZL-Mielec built 129 MiG-17PF as Lim-5Ps, which were fitted with RP-1 radars, but by the late 1960s these were no longer combat capable as interceptor fighters. In 1971 some were converted to attack aircraft by installing additional weapon provisions and replacing the radar with a battery. These aircraft were designated Lim-6M and the reconnaisance version was the Lim-6MR. This example of the latter is pictured at this super museum.

Being introduced in 1946 and phased out in 1973, the Vampire held its ground with the Swiss forces, withstanding the technological advancements of that period. This 1952 airframe is from the second main batch of 100 licence-built aircraft. It has been on display in three different countries since 1986.

This is an amateur, homebuilt aircarft that was used to escape from Poland during the Cold War. In September 1971 the pilot took off from Krosno in SE Poland and landed in Subotica, Yugoslavia. After a few months in prison the pilot managed to reach Sweden and then Germany. After the end of the Cold War and lifting of the Berlin Wall the plane was restored to flying condition. On the 13th September 2005, the 34th anniversary of his fateful flight, the pilot donated the plane to this wonderful museum.

The Tu-2 matured with this S model, propelled by powerful ASh-82FN radial engines. Built in 1947, this aircraft is said to have spent two years in Soviet service, before joining the Polish air force with serial 5. Among its variety of tasks was being an ejection seat test bed, for which it was modified in 1956. The museum received it in 1964 and has it on display with the rear cockpit restored as the gunner's place, but without markings.

The MD-12 is a Polish four-engined short-range passenger and civil utility aircraft of the 1960s intended for LOT's domestic routes. The plane evaluated well but did not enter production as the small number of planes required resulted in vastly increased costs. Instead this aerial photography version with a glazed nose and increased wing span was built and is now on display at this super museum having been recently repainted.
