Flies a mirror formation with Christen Eagle II ANICH 0001 N6LA.

This one-of-its-kind homebuilt helicopter was designed by Art Murray, and first flew in 1974, powered by a Lycoming 135hp engine. It was given to the museum in 2005.

This diminutive, foldable (!) helicopter was designed to be dropped over an ennemy zone, to be used by downed crewmembers to fly back to friendly positions. Even if it could fly properly, there were too many problems to overcome and the type never entered production.

Despite its vintage looking, this homebuilt first flew in 1996. It uses the wings of a Twin Bonanza and the engine and prop come from a Beech 18. On loan at the museum since 2016.

On display at Science Museum London. This S.E.5a had two asbestos covered exhaust pipes running on either side of the fuselage that combined at the rudder to form a single outlet. Part of the rudder has been cut to accommodate the Y junction. The aircraft is in its skywriting configuration as used by Maj. J.C. 'Jack' Savage after WW1. A pioneer of skywriting, he noted that the fighter was built much stronger than what was needed for the stresses of skywriting. The war veteran was donated by Maj. Savage to the Science Museum as the last of 33 skywriting aircraft he owned.

This homebuilt first flew in 1976, and about ten are known to have been built eversince. It was loaned to the museum in 2007.

This small, single-seat one-of-a-kind research aircraft was designed and built by Pete Bartoe in the mid-1970s. The first test flights were in 1977, and it retired in 1978, before being briefly flown again in the early 80's. It explored the technology of increasing lift at low speeds by blowing the exhaust of the turbofan engine over the upper surfaces of the wings. Bartoe's design directed all of the engine's output to the wings. This resulted in an aircraft with an astonishing speed range, from a minimum of 40 mph to a maximum of about 400 mph! Its top speed was ten times its minimum speed!

The B-52B Stratofortress on display at Wings Over the Rockies was the seventh B-52 built and was originally created as an RB-52B for long-range reconnaissance operations. The Air Force used it for avionics testing before being converting it into a bomber. Then it served with the 93rd Bomb Wing, where it served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In 1966, it came to Lowry Air Force Base as a training airframe for munitions loading instruction. The B-52B is on loan from the National Museum of the US Air Force. (from the Museum's website)

Ex Maryland ANG. Present in the museum from 1974 until 1997 when it closed after which the aircraft remained in situ, was registered as N10625 in 2001 and subsequently remained stored on the airfield for several years. The registration was cancelled in 2018.

The first Luftwaffe RF-4E, ex 3501, went to the Turkish Air Force in 1995. It was upgraded by ASELSAN and has been on display inside the Sekapark in Izmit since October 2006.

The T-103 was used as a trainer aircraft with the RoKAF from 2004 until 2018. This one sits under the wings of a B-52D in the Seoul war museum and is seen here shortly after sunset. The c/n is thought to be 0501, however this is unconfirmed.
