It left Dutch waters forever on delivery to the USA on 29 May 2019.

The Ryan STM-2 was a popular trainer type in the Neth East Indies. It was used both by the Army Air Force (KNIL) and the Navy. Several Navy Ryans were equiped with EDO floats to train future Do-24 and Catalina pilots. The STM-2 was flown with spad covered wheels but these have been removed during maintenance. This example is owned by the Koninklijke Luchtmacht Historische Vlucht.

The Flying Hoorn 2015 event was a bit windy, which made for some very nice photos. The Dutch Catalina is seen here settling down on the water of the Hoornsche Hop off Hoorn, at the end of one of several pleasure flights. Built for the Netherlands East Indies Navy & shipped to Australia ahead of the Japanese advance. Taken over by the RAAF in 1942 as A50-11. Sold April 1945 & registered VH-AGD later that year. Crashed Mildura 1967 but subsequently rebuilt and registered VH-AWG(3).

This magnificent amphibian arrived in the Netherlands in 1995, initially owned by Martin van Schie as C-FHHR, then N27311 and finally PH-PBY. It changed hands in May 2000, and following an extensive restoration this aircraft first flew again exactly a month before this photo was taken. It was painted in these Netherlands Navy colours three weeks later, and this photo shows its first public appearance as such. Unfortunately it suffered an engine failure on 21 April 2017, and was withdrawn from use. Repairs proved too expensive, and in 2018 it was decided to offer the aircraft for sale. It departed to the USA in May 2019.
