The Ryan STM-2 was a popular trainer type in the Neth East Indies. It was used both by the Army Air Force (KNIL) and the Navy. Several Navy Ryans were equiped with EDO floats to train future Do-24 and Catalina pilots. The STM-2 was flown with spad covered wheels but these have been removed during maintenance. This example is owned by the Koninklijke Luchtmacht Historische Vlucht.
