Part of the Fleet Air Arm Historic Flight, VH-NVY was trucked to Schofields for the air show. An attempt by a member of the team with no flying training to air taxi the Scout to a new location on November 10 resulted in substantial damage. -NVY was cancelled from the register. The MSN used here is from production and UK military serial lists. When registered in 1994 the MSN entered for -NVY was F9490, which is British Army Scout XP889. It was written off in a crash in February 1965.

VH-MRD served with the Australian navy from 1953 to 1963. It had an RAAF serial - the A11 prefix was applied to the RAAF's wartime Taylorcaft Austers - throughout its navy career. -MRD was civil registered in December 1963 and withdrawn from use in 2015. By then it had been transformed into the Beach Hawk, a 200hp Lycoming-powered two-seater which retained only the wings, tailplane and general configuration of the original aircraft. It is considered to be a new type, in the amateur built category, and has the MSN 1.

It had an RAAF serial - the A11 prefix was applied to the RAAF's wartime Taylorcaft Austers - throughout its navy career. -MRD was civil registered in December 1963 and withdrawn from use in 2015. By then it had been transformed into the Beach Hawk, a 200hp Lycoming-powered two-seater which retained only the wings, tailplane and general configuration of the original aircraft. It is considered to be a new type, in the amateur built category, and has the MSN 1.

Confusingly for enthusiasts, it was painted to resemble Australian Navy Sea Fury WH589, which had been parked at Bankstown airport for many years as a potential target towing aircraft with Illawarra Aviation. That aircraft was sold in the US. Initially, VH-HFX carried the serial WE729 (a British Sea Fury that ended up in Cuba) but this was later changed to WH589. In 1991 -HFX was sold in the UK as G-BTTA, eventually making its way back to Australia as VH-ORN in 2010
