This was one of several Hawker Furies obtained by Guido Zuccoli from the Iraq Air Force and restored by him in Darwin. The aircraft was operated in Australia until 1988 when it was sold to the USA. It currently resides in Santa Teresa, un-flown since 1989.

VH-HFA was one of the Iraqi Furies, former Iraqi Air Force aircraft found in storage in 1979. It was registered in Australia in January 1984 and painted as an Australian navy Sea Fury. The code 253/K was not used on any real RAN Sea Fury- 253 was its former Iraqi serial. VH-HFA was sold in the US as N57JB in 1988.
