slide scan from the NK collection. - Finnair operated nine Convair 440s between 1953 and 1980; six came new from Convair's Burbank factory, one was acquired second-hand from Alitalia, and two were transferred from Karair. OH-LRF was built in 1957 and made a winter visit to Munich-Riem in old Finnair colours. Eventually, the airframe was registered as CP-2256 and lost during an emergency landing in Bolivia in September 1993.

Taken on the SAFAIR ramp, this 1974 built Hercules has just been bought from Sao Tome based Transafrik when pictured in April 2005. SAFAIR has been one of the biggest civilian L-100 operators and put it's Her'sk to work where ever this rugged plane was needed. Hence, SAFAIR Herks wore many different liveries, but probably most "all white with UN titles" to battle crisis in Africa. This one started as ZS-RSF (with Safair), then to NWT in Canada as C-FNWF and back to ZS-RSF. Next to Southern Air Transport as N904SJ, then to S9-CAI in 1997, before returning to ZS-RSF again sometimes in 2005.

slide scan from the NK collection. - G-ASHZ displayes the latest colours of British Air Ferries; it was Carvair conversion no. 9 out of a total of 21. The aircraft had flown as a C-54B / DC-4 from 1945 until 1962, and after its very long career as converted aircraft it was stored at Gainesville TX. Seen there as N89FA in good condition in 2021!
