Ferried from Raytheon at Tucson Int'l, where she was a guided weapons systems testbed, to Davis-Monthan on 8 August 2023 and towed across Valencia Road to the museum the same day. Built in 1958 as a CV440 for REAL as PP-YRM but not taken up. To General Motors as N5122 in May 1960 and converted to CV580 the same year. Became N580R in October 1977, N580HH in March 1980 and to Texas Instruments in 1981. Suffered a heavy runway excursion in 1993 but was repaired to serve another 30 years, with Raytheon since the start of this century.

Built as a HH-53C and over the years converted to HH-53H, MH-53J and the highly capable MH-53M Pave Low IV version. Has a turbulent history including recovery of Jonestown Massacre victims in 1978, Desert Storm operations in 1991 and the first ever night landing at Buckingham Palace, in 2003 supporting the Bush visit as a 21st SOS machine from Mildenhall. Retired by the 20st SOS in 2008 and on loan here from the USAF Museum since 2010. The nose art above the name features Marvin the Martian firing a machine gun, with 'Desert Storm 1991' written in all-capitals on the same panel.

The spray pipes are still in place below the wing trailing edge on this late 1950s crop duster that was at the root of the Thrush agricultural aircaft family tree. Snow Aeronautical was bought by Rockwell in 1965, which mr. Snow left in 1972 to found Air Tractor that produced another family of famous spraying aircraft and derivatives.

Restoration as good as finished for the oldest B-52 in existence and one of only three original A models. With the multi-year effort completed, The High and Mighty One looks superb in her 1965 colour scheme. On the nose are 107 X-15 mission marks and an eagle dropping the hypersonic rocket plane, above the name. The Air Force Test Center badge is there too, plus a shortened version of the tail number (in post 1953 format). This mothership, like famous sister Balls 8, also launched a whole series of other experimental vehicles and even carried out tests for the Space Shuttle programme.

A relatively recent arrival at the photo date and parked in the maintenance area. P-3B BuNo 155299 went to the Royal Australian Air Force in May 1968 as A9-299. Back to the US as N91LC with Lockheed in July 1983, to become the AEW&C Orion prototype. Present as such at the Paris Air Show in 1985. Put into storage with the 309th AMARG in April 1994, when the 465th Fighter Squadron became the 465th Air Refueling Squadron. Added to the museum collection In July 2018 with a refurbished paint job, including the shield of Oklahoma on the fintip for the 'Okies' of the 465th FS, an Air Force Reserve Command squadron.

The Army was the last US force to operate the Sherpa and this was one of the last pair, final deployment with Task Force Sinai. Back in the US in December 2013, then stored one year at Henry Post AAF (OK). To AMARG thereafter, intended for Brazil via FMS early 2021 but not taken up and to Pima that April. Born in January 1985 as Short 360-200 SH3666, flying with US and Canadian airlines until conversion in March 1998. A bleached Multinational Force & Observers badge is still on the wheel bay.

This was the first of four cargo capable C-20Gs for the US Navy and the first one to be retired. Delivery in March 1994 was followed by a Navy career that lasted exactly 24 years, as this Gulf went to AMARG in March 2018 where it would stay some 4.5 years. Most markings were removed in 2008; the full serial and type are present here above the nose gear and behind the APU exhaust in small AMARG style print.

This Block 1 F-16B was the first one to come off the automated production line; previous ones had been built individually. It started its flying career in October 1978 and arrived at the Pima museum in July 2018. Behind the cockpit is a simplified version of the 157th FS Swamp Foxes' logo.

One of a flight of 47th Fighter Squadron 'Dogpatchers' A-10s recovering to base. The squadron badge, a 47 spade (the 7 is rather inconspiquous) is on the tail and both the 944th Fighter Wing and 924th Fighter Group badges are above the wing leading edge. The DP tail code was new with the USAF, assigned upon reactivation of the 47th FS in June 2014.

Last seen active in July 2015 with AIRTEVRON (Air Test and Evaluation Squadron) 30, of which the badge can still be made out on the tail as well as part of the tailcode 340. The NP-3D prominently features an over-the-horizon radar system. This airframe was also an RP-3A between delivery as a standard A model and the shown version.
