Constructed in 1936 by Mr. M.M. Wilder, with c/r NC16817. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and based this plane at Coastal Base 2, Rehoboth, DE, during WWII. Mr. Wilder was awarded the Air Medal for his service at Coastal Patrol Base 2. 28 Sep '72: George L. Weiss, Ft. Washington, MD. In 1991 Mr. Weiss donated this plane to the Air Force Museum and flew it there; at the time he was a retired Lt. Colonel. The plane was then repainted as it appeared while flying with the CAP during WWII.

11 May 64: Rolled out at Palmdale, CA, factory. 21 Sep 64: First flight; flew to Edwards AFB, CA; assigned to NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center. From there test pilots from NASA and the USAF flew the plane during its test program. 14 Oct 65: First Mach 3 flight. 17 Dec 68: Last supersonic flight. 4 Feb 69: Ferried to the Air Force Museum, Patterson Field, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

8/45: Rolled out with s/n 45-8835, but not TOS. 10/45: RFC, Walnut Ridge, AR. 2/46: Lodwick Aircraft Industries; registered NX69345. 6/46: Bendix Aviation Corporation; used as test bed for radar and avionics with modified radar nose. 11/67: Bendix Field Engineering Corp, Columbia, MD. 8/72: Registered CF-DKU. 1978: Converted as a fire-fighter, registered C-FDKU. 9/93: Aero Trader, Chino, CA; accepted for resale while it continued operating as a fire-fighter. 6/94: Registered N5672V. 6/94 to 1999: Restored. 3/11: Betty's Dream LLC, Dover, DE.

June/45: TOS USAAF as B-25J 44-86758 and placed in storage. June/51: Hughes Aircraft for conversion to TB-25K radar trainer, then assigned to James Connally AFB, TX. December/57: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ for storage. April/58: Arrow Sales Company, North Hollywood, CA; registered N9643C. August/58: H.H.Coffield/Rockdale Flying Service, Rockdale, TX. February/76: Purchased by two members of the Confederate Air Force, Harlingen, TX; began restoration at Rockdale. May/80: Trucked to Harlingen and ownership was taken over by the CAF. Restoration was completed in 1981, with first flight taking place in July.

10 Nov '44: TOS USAAF as B-25J 44-29869 and assigned to 560th Base Unit, Palm Springs Army Air Field, CA. Converted as TB-25J. 1/46: Storage with 4168th BU, South Plains AAF, TX. 5/46: 304th BU, Langley Field, VA. 6/47: Placed in storage at Peyote AB, TX. 14 Nov '51: Flown to Brookley AFB, AL for maintenance. 2/52 to 9/52: Hughes Aircraft, Culver, CA; converted to TB-25K. 9/52: 3565th Training Wing, James Connally AFB, TX. 12/57: Stored Davis-Monthan 10/58: Registered N3160G. 1963: WFU at Anoka, MN. 12/78: Confederate Air Force. 1979 to 1993: Restored and registered N27493.

27 Jul '44: TOS USAAF as 44-28866 and modified as TB-25J. Used by many units for training and utility transport. Jun-Jul 1955: Converted to TB-25N. 10 Oct '57: SOC. 1/58: Registered N5277V and used by several owners for firefighting. 5/93: Registered N225AJ. 1998: Peddycord Foundation for Aircraft Restoration, Asheboro, NC; restored from 1998 to 2004; making its first flight restored on 30 Oct '04 flying as "Carolina Girl." 8/04: Re-registered as N744CG. 2008: Jerry Shiffer/B-25 Project, Urbana, OH; more work done to the airframe; named "Champaign Gal." 23 Dec '08: Champaign Aviation Museum.

Assigned to various units for testing. 1/46: RFC, Walnut Ridge, AR. 4/71: Richard Lambert, Plainfield, IL; was ferried to his grass strip. 8/81: Weary Warriors Squadron, New Lenox, IL; spent two months preparing the plane for ferrying to Springfield for restoration. Both flight attempts had engine failures so they continued the flight to Springfield on one engine. A few years later it was trucked to Rockford, IL for continuing restoration, completed in 1992. 10/15: Cavanaugh Air.
