Of the approximately eighty SA-365C Dauphin 2 built between 1977 and 1981, six or seven served with Heli-Union. Not much is known of F-GFPB pictured here, as Heli-Union used to shuffle helis around between it's bases in West-Africa. In any case, it started off as F-ODNJ before joining Heli-Union. It was based in Douala for a while in the mid 1990's, serving the oil industry off Cameroon's coast and flying for TOTAL and Pecten Cameroon (a subsidary of Shell). Believed to be withdrawn from use in 1998.

Mountain Goat tail livery. Previously N214AU with USAir and N745N with Piedmont Airlines. Later went to Aero Continente Chile as CC-CJN and Aero Continente OB-1753. Retired Jul 2004.

He either missed his gate or was re-assigned a gate and consequently made a 180 turn. This conveniently allowed me to photograph the port side with the fox cubs tail cols.

Starboard side with the Polar Bear Cubs tail cols. In that period the other side portrayed a different animal. Ex USAir N578US and Piedmont Airlines N305P. Later to AirAsia 9M-AAU and then Awair and Indonesia AirAsia as PK-AWU. Retired Sep 2010.

Delivered to the RCAF in 1944 as serial 11088. then civil registered to Quebec Department of Lands and Forests in 1961. Current in 2022 with Exploits Valley Air Services at Gander/NL.

The second of four different Caravans to carry the registration, it was imported in 1990 and sold as N70715 in March 1997 to the State of Alaska.

This DC-6A was converted for spruce budworm control by Conifair, as indicated by spray booms on the wings.

In 2006, while with Buffalo Airways, this aircraft was written off while attempting a landing with only #3 & #4 engine running.

Was bought by Buffalo Airways and in 2003, on approach to a 3800 ft gravel strip, the crew lost control resulting in an undershoot which tore off both wings.

Originally delivered to Pan American in 1953 as N4061K (see nosewheel door), this freight converted Douglas DC-6B sits forlornly awaiting its fate. After the collapse of Conifair/Royal Aviation, no further history is known for the aircraft.
