Seen here in storage, but this Convair went on the following year to fly with DHL in Europe as OO-DHJ. It was however lost in a crash 0n 1 September 2008 as N587X with Air Tahoma. It was on a flight following a maintenance "C" Check and crashed in Pickaway County, Ohio, immediately after departure from Rickenbacker International Airport. The crew had declared an in-flight emergency and were attempting to return to the departure airport. All three occupants - the captain, first officer and a company pilot observer - were killed in the crash or post-crash fire. An NTSB report blamed elevator trim

Originally built for SABENA in 1956 as a CV-440, OO-SCT, this long-lived Convair was still active with Air Chathams in New Zealand as of 2018.

This was the first Neptune converted for fire-fighting duties, in 1969. Its original US Navy serial was 124904. It was officially registered to Evergreen Helicopters in Oct 1984, but was never used by them. Reregistered to N208EV in 1985, but reg not painted on and aircraft remained stored. Eventually scrapped there. Note that the registration was altered to look like N128Z.

This line of early ex-Eastern 727s lingered at Marana for several years before being broken up.

Note the Hamilton-Standard props fitted to this aircraft - they are similar to those fitted to the P-3 Orion.
