The registration and location would suggest a former PBA & Naples Airlines aircraft.

Acquired by Naples Airlines & PBA in May 77, ex Piedmont Airlines and TWA before that (both as N40420). Never entered service with Naples & PBA and was probably used for spares. Broken up. Reg cancelled Nov 2012,

Acquired Mar 79 by the Collier Mosquito Control District, ex Federal Aviation Administration N21. Withdrawn from use at Naples (date unknown). In 1984 it was photographed at Naples in derelict condition.

Acquired Jun 78 ex Century Airlines N25666. To Alexander Promotions Inc in Jun 92 as N28AA. Noted as still airworthy in 2009. Sold to a private owner May 2017 and based at DeKalb Peachtree Airport GA. Tours air shows and seen flying at Oshkosh WI in July 2019.

To Canyon Valley Air in Mar 2000 (asN403PB). To XA-UFF in Apr 2006.

Registered to Tampa Air Center. Last noted withdrawn from use on the Tolair ramp at San Juan PR in Jun 2000.

Last noted May 2017 as privately owned and still in PBA/Eastern Express cols.

Delivered to American Airlines in March 1940 as a model 277B. Note the starboard passenger door. Later converted to DC-3A. To Aeroejecutivos in May 87 as YV-440C and continued to operate with them until circa 2005.

Once flew with Pan American Airways. After leaving PBA in Apr 86, it went to Aeroejecutivos as YV-427C. There was an unconfirmed report that it was damaged beyond economical repair in a ground loop accident circa 1991-92.

Ex 42-23808 and N840M, owned by the Collier County Mosquito Control District. Later converted to BT-67 by Basler and to the Colombian Air Force as FAC1473.

When I posted this picture on a Beech 18 FB Group, I received this interesting additional info from Bob Parmerter: This nice conversion of a surplus C-45H to a high cabin trigear G18S, with panoramic window, was done by Volitan Avn, Pacoima, CA in Jan 63. I believe that at the time this picture was taken it had been seized by the Collier Co. Sheriff (not sure why), then auctioned by them in Apr 80 to L.R. Pike, Everglades FL., for the low price of $13,500. Not sure if it flew after that (no 337 forms in the file) & was reported as "destroyed/scrapped" by same owner in Dec87. Thanks Bob.

First flew with TWA and then Piedmont. Reported as withdrawn from use Naples FL in 1985.

This rather unhealthy DC-3 was owned by the Collier County Health Department! They had acquired it in March 79 ex N31 of the Federal Aviation Administration, whose basic cols it was still in. Last noted seen in a similar state in 1983.

Registered to Collier Mosquito Control District (Naples). Last noted with a private owner and the reg was cancelled 15 Apr 2013.
