'The remains of a T-33 jet trainer after it crashed at Tye base Monday morning. The pilot, Jacques Chataigner, 20, climbed out unhurt.' Tye was renamed Dyess AFB in 1956. Aircraft belonged to the 3560th Pilot Training Wing at Webb AFB. Reports that this T-33 crashed at Webb in 1958 must be wrong. Photo from: Hardin-Simmons University Library
