This P-3 was TOC by the USN with the BuNo. 148276. It was the third of three frames modified into a NP-3A for the US Naval Research Laboratory before being transferred to NASA as, firstly, N927NA and then N428NA. It was on display as an outside exhibit at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida although I believe it has now been scrapped..

Preserved in an external compound at Pensacola before completion of the extended US Navy museum building. The aircraft temporarily wore the fake serial of 121458, an early production F3D-2, but this was later corrected to real BuNo 124598.

This Phantom had the distinction of flying with the US Navy Blue Angels 1972-1974, The fighter was transferred to the Naval Air Test Center (NATC) located at NAS Patuxent River, MD when the team re-equipped with A-4 Skyhawks. It kept the Blue Angels color scheme until finally repainted in standard operational colors during 1985.The aircraft is presently the on loan from National Naval Aviation Museum, marked as a VF-96 fighter aboard the USS Enterprise, and displayed at Sikeston Veterans Park adjacent to the airport.
