This a/c was the first swept wing jet constructed for the US Navy. There were two XF9F-6 Cougars built, with this being the first, and it made its first flight on 20 September 1951. 30 Aug 1963: TOS USN as 150076. During its career it served with VA-43, VA-72, V-44, VA-81,VA-195, VA-94, VMA-211, VMAT-102, VMA-124, and VFA-127, flying combat over Vietnam with three of them. 1990: Flown to Naval Aviation Museum. Now marked as a Blue Angel 154180, which is at the Boeing Museum.
