This a/c was the first swept wing jet constructed for the US Navy. There were two XF9F-6 Cougars built, with this being the first, and it made its first flight on 20 September 1951. It is now located at the National Air & Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. Grumman F9F-2 Panther 123050 can be seen parked next to it.
