In 1998, the museum at Elmira was called the National Warplane Museum. The rights to that name was taken over by the current museum at Geneseo, NY in 2010. The collection is now known as the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center.

This F2H-2P is wearing its correct Bureau Number but is painted as an F2H-2P of VMJ-1, which it was never assigned to. 126673 actually was assigned to VMJ-2 at Cherry Point, N.C. and later to VC-62 at NAS Jacksonville, FL. While with VC-62 it made a cruise aboard USS Coral Sea from March 1955 - August 1955. It was retired from USN service in July 1958. It was then transferred to Vero Beach, FL. where it was displayed in a park. It was acquired by the museum in 1989 and restored to its present condition. Under the nose are two aerial cameras on display.

Korean War photo reconnaissance unit VMJ-1 was commissioned on 25 February 1952 at K-3 (Pohang). It initially had five F2H-2P Banshees, one F9F-2P Panther, four F7F-2P Tigercats, and one F4U-5P Corsair.
