VH-EBE was used to carry cattle from Pakistan to Papua New Guinea, then under Australian rule, for a program to develop a better breed for hot tropical climates. The cattle were not allowed into Australia for biosecurity reasons. Biosecurity also meant the cattle had to be kept on the aircraft from Karachi to Port Moresby. While the location of the photo is not given, the airport is not Port Moresby so must be Karachi Photo from: National Library of Australia

B-25s and other Allied aircraft at Karachi's airport during WWII. The site developed around the huge hangar built for British imperial airships which never arrived. Civil aircraft moved here from nearby RAF Drigh Road, now PAF Faisal, during the 1930s.
