The sole Cruiser I, first flown in May 1932. Original designation 24M (Metal), as the wooden construction of the earlier Mailplane, G-ABLI, was changed to metal. The registered construction number makes no sense and should probably be 24M/1. Aircraft made European sales tour in October 1932. Used by Spartan Air Lines, Isle of Wight from April 1933. Sold to Commercial Air Hire, Croydon Airport, early in 1935. Ditched in The Channel on 11 May 1935 carrying a cargo of newspapers from Paris. Photo from: Dan Shumaker collection
