Hertfordshire was the name given to a military variant of the DH.95 Flamingo, with oval windows and 22 seats on benches alongside the cabin walls. R2510 was the sole example. It was issued to No 24 Sqn at Hendon which operated a hotchpotch of communications aircraft, including several Flamingos. The prototype de Havilland DH.95 Flamingo over St Helier Harbour. The aircraft was evaluated by Jersey Airways, appearing here as Guernsey & Jersey Airways, from May 1939. The prototype was impressed as T5357 after the outbreak of war and damaged beyond repair on 4 October 1940.
