This twin-Beech has no military background but has been restored to resemble an RCAF photographic section aircraft.

This twin-Beech has no military background and wasn't built till 1946 (as NC80213) but has been restored to resemble an RCAF photographic section aircraft stationed at Winnipeg in 1944. The RCAF took delivery of the first of 388 C-45 Expeditors in August 1939. Three types were used - the 3NM for navigation, bombing & weapons training and photo survey, the 3TM for VIP transport and the 3T for cargo. Later registrations were CF-HHI (International Nickel, used for mine transport) and TG-JIQ, with the current registration allocated in 1977. It remains flyable and available for pax rides.

Never had any military history. Registered as NC80213 in 1946. To N80213 in 1949, CF-HHI in 1953, TG-JIQ in 1974 and C-GZCE in 1977. To Canadian Warplane Heritage in 1982.

This 1946 D18S started off carrying passengers and freight between Florida and Maine. Then International Nickel (INCO) operated it for nearly 25 years hauling men and equipment to prospecting sites and mines in Canada and Central America. The aircraft has been restored by the CWHM in the colours and markings of a detached photographic section of the RCAF, circa 1944, which was stationed in Winnipeg.
